Memorial Service for Rev. Dr. Timothy Moses Chambers Jr.

 

There will be a Community Memorial Celebration Service in honor of the late Rev. Dr. T.M. Chambers Jr., on Friday, April 23, 2010, 7:00 p.m., at the Roger Williams Baptist Church, 1342 W. Adams Blvd., in Los Angeles.
Dr. Chambers was one of America's most renowned, dynamic, creative, and sought-after preachers during his long ministerial career. He pastored churches in Texas, Michigan, Arkansas, and California.
Several of his long-time friends, colleagues, relatives, and community leaders will come together at the church where his father, the late Dr. T.M. Chambers Sr. served, to pay tribute to his preaching legacy.
The Memorial Celebration preacher will be one of Dr. Chambers' long-time close friends, the renowned Rev. Dr. Donald L. Parson, Pastor of the Logos Baptist Assembly in Chicago, IL.
The service is being sponsored by the Roger Williams Baptist Church, Los Angeles, Rev. W.K. Woods, Pastor, the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church Southwest, Los Angeles, Rev. Charles Woods Sr., Pastor, and the Antioch Church Of Long Beach, Rev. Wayne A. Chaney Jr., Pastor. All three of these pastors are nephews of the Rev. Chambers. Also helping to put on this service are the Western Baptist State Convention, Dr. Joe Benjamin Hardwick, President, and the Baptist Ministers Fellowship Of Los Angeles, Dr. Lester Mosley,

A visitation will be held April 22 at New Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 9537 S. Vermont Ave. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted April 23, 10:00 a.m., at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church 4269 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, 90037.
