Jill Scott

Jill Scott Grants NAACP Exclusive Download Rights

All Proceeds From Single Will Benefit The NAACP For Haiti Fund

Last month, millions across the country gathered to watch the 41st NAACP Image Awards-the nation's premier event celebrating outstanding achievements in African American arts and culture. The Image Awards honors the aspirations of all Americans, told from an African American perspective.

But the awards are more than just glitz and glam. They also promote those who work to make a difference in the world around us. This year, R&B superstar Jill Scott debuted the song, Hear My Call as part of a moving tribute to Wyclef Jean and the survivors of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Ms. Scott has generously allowed the NAACP exclusive rights to the download of the recording, with proceeds going to aid survivors through the NAACP for Haiti fund.

"We are honored that Jill Scott has chosen to support the efforts of the NAACP in Haiti," said Benjamin Todd Jealous, President and CEO of the NAACP. "Jill exemplifies an abiding, deep commitment not only to her fans, but to the world in which we live. We are grateful for her generosity and willingness to share a part of herself and her music with the NAACP and ultimately with the people of Haiti."

The NAACP Image Awards has promoted the best of diversity in the arts for forty-one years. The entertainment industry is responsible for projecting images and ideas to the public. It is the mission of the NAACP Image Awards to ensure those images include diversity, solidarity, and social justice.

Jill Scott is just one of many examples of amazing artists who took her dedication to social justice to a global level-making the Image Awards all the more incredible.

Visit -, to download the song for just ninety-nine cents and take home a piece of the Image Awards, and help victims of the Haiti earthquake.
