Fun things to do and learn for Kwanzaa

The Limbiko Tembo Kawaida School of African American Culture (Us) will hold its annual Children's Kwanzaa Workshop Sunday, December 13 at 3 pm at the African American Cultural Center (Us) 3018 W 48 St, Los Angeles.

The workshop is a fun filled cultural experience where children ages 3-11 learn about the beautiful meaning and practices of the Kwanzaa season. The values of Kwanzaa, the Nguzo Saba (The Seven Principles), will be emphasized through stories, arts and crafts activities, dance and music.

Kwanzaa is a seven-day (Dec. 26-Jan. 1) African American and pan-African cultural holiday that celebrates family, community and culture. The Nguzo Saba are Umoja (Unity), Kujichagulia (Self Determination), Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility), Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), Nia (Purpose), Kuumba (Creativity), and Imani (Faith). Refreshments will be served.

The Limbiko Tembo KSAAC (Us) is a cultural education and enrichment school for children ages 3-11 that is held the 3rd Saturday of each month from 12-2 pm at the African American Cultural Center (Us).
