By Evan BarnesSentinel Sports EditorRobert Woods (Serra) and Sean Parker (Narbonne) were once teammates on the Carson Colts Pop Warner Team. Now they're both U.S. Army All-Americans.
Parker was honored November 6 and Woods was honored November 9 to participate in the 10th anniversary of the Army All-American Game held on January 9 in San Antonio, Texas and televised on NBC
Both follow in the footsteps of USC freshman cornerback Byron Moore, who was selected last year from Narbonne and also played on the same team. Woods and Parker are also the second selection from each school, with Eric McNeal (Serra) playing in 2002.
"It was a goal for me and I'm just thankful to be able to play in this game," Woods said. "Byron told me it was a lot of fun and a great chance to network."
The Army All-American Game will be their first game as teammates since their days with the Colts and a precursor to their future home at USC next fall.
"It's like going there with a brother," Woods said of sharing the experience with Parker.
