Councilmember Bernard C. Parks participated in the Los Angeles  Chamber of Commerce's Access L.A. City Hall panel discussion "The City Budget: How Can  L.A. Prevent a Fiscal Meltdown?"

Parks, Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, Chief  Administrative Officer Miguel Santana along with Target Media Partners CEO Jack  Humphreville, Rubalcava Capital Management Principal Alex Rubalcava and the Regional  Director of Service Employees International Union 721 Julie Butcher discussed the city budget  and what can be done to stop the downward spiral.

"We've been too good at finding one-year solutions instead of focusing on multi-year solutions.  Now there is no extra money in the drawer, and our revenue continues to decline as our  expenditures go up" Councilmember Bernard C. Parks stated during the panel discussion.
