3rd Annual Hallelujah Night Celebration

Pumpkin
Southern Missionary Baptist Church will hold host their 3rd Annual Hallelujah Night Celebration. Hallelujah Night, a safe alternative to traditional Halloween activities for inner-City youth and their families, offers an atmosphere for community members to come together as one. Pastor Xavier L. Thompson expressed, "It is our hope that this event will continue to allow us to create a strong bond with the community as well as welcome the diversity our neighbors."

Located in the West Adams/Crenshaw Corridor in Council District 10, Southern Missionary Baptist Church has been a vital part of the Los Angeles community for over 60 years. Our Hallelujah Night Celebration serves as a community gathering for the entire neighborhood and citizens of all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds. This upcoming community event will include screenings for children and adults, free food from a culturally diverse selection of food vendors, fun activities for all ages to participate in, as well as live entertainment featuring community choirs and guests.

This is an annual event that has proven to be a success each year as the community participation and involvement grows. Attendance by the community last year was at an all-time high of 600 persons. Our goal for this year is to reach at least 1,000 families.

Local business owners are engaged to help put on an event of this magnitude. Thus allowing others to give back to the community that supports them.
