Kanye West and Taylor Swift
No He Didn't!!

"Are you serious? No play that again.... is this joke, are you kidding me?!"
That was my reaction when I watched what Kanye West did at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
For the few that don't know or were sleeping under a rock for the last few days, rap artist and super producer Kanye West bum-rushed the stage at the 2009 MTV VMA's and stole the microphone from country sensation Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech for winning the MTV VMA for best female music video.
Kanye West told the live audience and millions of viewers watching that Beyonce deserved the award because she had one of the greatest videos of all time.
For Kanye West to interrupt Taylor Swift just to give his opinion as if he is the God of award shows means absolutely nothing and is absurd to say the least.
Let's be real, Beyonce doesn't do anything in her videos that we haven't seen her do for the last ten videos. She gets half naked and dances in front of the camera. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Beyonce supporter (for that reason alone) and I must say I love watching any Beyonce video, but truth be told I am never taken by surprise as far as concept and themes are concerned.
Beyonce is arguably pound for pound the best entertainer in music business but we are talking about music videos. Think about it, Beyonce has done the same style of video for the last two to three years. She dances in front of a black or white backdrop and shakes her money-maker like her life depends on it. Trust, I am not hating on Beyonce because I think each time she puts out a music video she sales it like no other artist in history. She is a super-star and it's her humility that stands above every other artist in the game. That's why Beyonce took home the most important VMA of the night, which is best video of the year ("Single Ladies").
I have to give Beyonce credit for showing class after Kanye made her part of his egotistical breakdown. When Beyonce won the VMA for video of the year she invited Taylor Swift the stage and allowed her to speak and take back the moment that Kanye West ruined.
When I really sat back and thought about Kanye's outburst, I compared the situation to stealing candy from a baby. Kanye West knew that he could take the microphone from Taylor Swift, a frail light-hearted woman, and not get any immediate backlash or better stated get back-slapped. I would have liked to see Kanye West try stunt on 50 Cent or say a Lil Wayne. To be totally honest, I would have liked to see Kanye try that with any other rapper in the business. Kanye would have gotten his butt whipped before he got a chance to speak if he tried that stunt. Kanye West is more than a 'big ego' he's a big idiot!
Since the event Kanye West has issued a few different apologies via blog and interviews none more important than his television interview with Jay Leno.
I think it's important that Kanye reach out because he has to be an example for artist to come and be an example for artist today.
I hear that many people want to ban his music but that will not solve anything. Kanye West made a mistake and should pay by realizing that he did lose many supporters and fans of his music. But to say that he should be banned or taken off the radio is ridiculous.
I think Kanye West was taught a valuable lesson and that is stay in your lane. We as people want to make ourselves out to be more than we are and sometimes we need a wakeup call even if the wakeup call comes from our own mistakes.
Besides I am a believer in the present world of propaganda and if anything as they say in the world of entertainment, "any publicity is good publicity".
Either way you look at it Kanye West has become a household name and his latest antic made him even more relevant. Society loves ticking bombs and Kanye West has proven to be just that. No matter what happens next the most important thing is that we are all tuned in. Kanye West is our creation so let's re-create Kanye and make sure he understands how to represent us. If he doesn't get his act together than it's up to us to pull him back down to reality and make him realize.Â
