2nd Annual Resurrected Life Awards set for September 26

Target, Wing Stop, and TGIF gives back to the 2nd annual resurrected life awards

After the start of the 1st Annual Resurrected Life Awards last year -- the event that brought substance and inspiration, showcasing to those in attendance the lives and the testimonies of the youth and young adult males who had overcome barriers while growing up without a father -- is back and in full effect on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. Resurrected Life Awards is founded, created, and coordinated by Deacon Ryan King of Greater Zion Church Family (formerly known as Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church) under the leadership of Pastor Michael Fisher.

This event will be presented at Greater Zion Church Family Fellowship Hall, 2408 N. Wilmington Ave., in the beautiful City of Compton. This annual joyful tear jerker and exciting event recognizes youth and young adult males who have overcome issues socially, mentally, financially, and spiritually without the guidance of their fathers, and an older male whose father has been absent for 50 years or more and who has been a leader to the younger generations in the church and the community.

Joining the host/visionary Deacon Ryan King for this year's award ceremony will be his fellow older, seasoned deacons of Greater Zion Church Family who will present the awards to the youth and young adult males.

This year's event will include entertainment by soloist Shalonda Crawford (an accomplished background vocalist for Kelly Clarkson, Deborah Cox, Heather Headley, and Mya), Danny Harrison (extraordinary and rising poet), LeJon Miller (up & coming Christian rapper phenomenon), Mychael & Slim (two improv/comedy actors), Delvon Richardson (Greater Zion Church Family 11 year-old starlight), and Charle Alford(trained and eloquent dancer).
