Ricky Ross' Homecoming!!
South Central's neighborhood native son, Ricky Ross, is coming home. In celebration, Ross is planning a free neighborhood celebration and giveaway in South Central L.A.
The day will be filed with mouth- watering food, fun- filled festivities and grassroots philanthropy. The festivities will take place at 5929 S. Vermont Avenue from 11 am to 4 pm.
Ross' own business firm, Freeway Enterprises Inc., will be sponsoring the star- studded event. In attendance will be mixed martial arts champion Karl James Noons, former California Angels player Reggie Montgomery, comedian Mike Epps, Los Angeles Clippers point guard Baron Davis, and former professional boxer Henry Tillman. Other celebrity guests include actor/ producer Mark Wahlberg and Phoenix Suns forward Amar'e Stoudemire, and a surprise live performance from two up and coming recording artists.
"Ricky is all about the children, more than himself. He feels that he must give back to the community 100 percent," says event coordinator and first lady of Freeway Enterprises, Inc. Boss Ladi. "He is trying to open opportunities for all kids- no matter what race, color or creed. This is just the first step."
More than 1, 200 children are expected to attend the event. There will be a double- Dutch contest with winners receiving an unlimited array of prizes. Activities planned include a hit- and - duck water tank, basketball tournament, soccer, volleyball, tug of war, dance off and much more.
In addition, thousands of dollars in prizes will be given away to all participants as well as school supplies for children.
Registration for this event will be held at Urban Legends Stadium at 8410 South Broadway in Los Angeles. Immediately following the event, a concert is planned for that night in Riverside, California.
