Young Musicians flock to honor Top Talent in Music

Hollywood, CA , - On Saturday, August 22, 2009, the American Society of Young Musicians (ASYM) will be hosting its "Live from Hollywood at The Music Box" awards show and concert event, honoring some of the biggest names in music. This will be ASYM's summer concert extravaganza, where an array of celebrities and musical artists will converge in honor of a night of stars and musical celebrations. Among those being honored for their work and contributions to the music industry include; legendary rock and roll writer and producer Brian Wilson, receiving the Trailblazer Award, prolific producer and star-maker formerly of Universal Music, Musicians Advocate Russ Regan, popular indie band Tea Leaf Green, hot male R&B star J. Holiday, Rhythm and Blues pioneer Bobby Womack, award-winning jazz trumpeteer, Joey Sommerville, and chart-topping multi-platinum legendary band Aerosmith, receiving Rock Icons Award honors!

The event at the famed Music Box of Hollywood at the Fonda Theatre, located at 6126 Hollywood Blvd. 6:30PM is a special presentation of live music, great food and rocking music, where young musicians across the country gather to honor and pay recognition to musical artists, while benefiting ASYM's Musicians Development and Support Fund. The event will be hosted by multi-talented radio personality, host, and spokesmodel, the lovely and talented Sam Phillips.

As the American Society of Young Musicians makes its presence known even more throughout the music community with its increasing membership in the southwest and exploding musicians membership in various cities in the States, ASYM provides a variety of services for young musicians, ages 21 to 35 based on extensive surveys from musicians, who indicated their specific needs regarding the pursuit of their craft. These include financial assistance for tuition at music schools and programs, shared housing referrals for struggling musicians, mentorships at record labels and production studios, employment services, and a support network of fellow artists. Over 2500 musicians to date have come through their doors on the road to artistic achievement. ASYM's mission has grown stronger with the increasing number of music industry supporters and fans who have taken note of all that they have accomplished for budding musicians everywhere.

In response to the overwhelming response and support that ASYM has been shown over the years, Jarvee E. Hutcherson, national president of the American Society of Young Musicians stated, "in these times when we need to encourage the human spirit through music now more than ever, we know that the support that we receive from both our radio station sponsor and the record labels, has helped our mission grow, while servicing young artists, more and more each day." The American Society of Young Musicians has in the past, played host to some of music's most prolific artists including; The Goo Goo Dolls, Lisa Marie Presley, Chris Botti, Foo Fighters, James Taylor, Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks, Quincy Jones, Bonnie Raitt, Liza Minelli, and Josh Groban, just to name a few.

The American Society of Young Musicians is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3, national organization, comprised of musicians, music students, artist advocates, and individuals from all over the country and within the music and entertainment community, who share a common commitment to the enrichment and advancement, both educationally and artistically, of promising young artists.
