James Loney to host state farm Dodgers Dream Foundation Bowling Extravaganza Â
James Loney will host the Fifth Annual State Farm Dodgers Dream Foundation Bowling Extravaganza this Thursday, July 23, at Lucky Strike Lanes at L.A. Live. The event will start at 6:00 p.m. and Loney will be joined by many of his Dodgers teammates, as well as several celebrity friends. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Dodgers Dream Foundation.
"I'm really looking forward to hosting this event after seeing how cool it was last year," said Loney. "The kids at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles fight difficult battles every day and the Dodgers Dream Foundation does great work, so I'm happy to help in any way I can."
Manny Ramirez, Russell Martin, Juan Pierre, Matt Kemp, Orlando Hudson, Ramon Troncoso, Clayton Kershaw, Brent Leach, Jeff Weaver, James McDonald, Xavier Paul, Ronald Belisario, and Rick Honeycutt are all scheduled to attend the event as well, as are several celebrities. Jordan Farmar of the Los Angeles Lakers, Doug Savant of Desperate Housewives, Sabrina Bryan of Dancing with the Stars and Cheetah Girls, Lou Diamond Phillips of La Bamba and Young Guns, Alyssa Milano of Charmed and Who's The Boss, Adam Rodriguez and Rex Lin of CSI Miami, AJ Buckley of CSI NY, Greg Grunberg of Heroes, Doug Robb of Hoobastank, Jonathan Silverman of Weekend at Bernies, Jennifer Finnigan of Close to Home and The Bold and the Beautiful, and WWE Superstars The Miz and Maryse are all scheduled to attend.
Each guest will get the chance to bowl two games with Dodger players or celebrities and will also take home their own State Farm Dodgers Dream Foundation Bowling Extravaganza jersey, bowling pin, and a photo of themselves with Loney in a special event photo book.
Lucky Strike Lanes L.A. Live is located at 800 W. Olympic Blvd. Registration will begin at 6:00 p.m. and bowling will start at 7:00 p.m. The awards ceremony will take place at 10:00 p.m. and the event is scheduled to end at 10:30 p.m. Throughout the evening, fans will have the opportunity to bid on items in the silent auction, including a one night stay in a suite at the Ritz-Carlton Los Angeles, roundtrip travel for two on JetBlue Airways, a one night stay in an ocean-view room at the Viceroy Santa Monica Hotel, a meet-and-greet experience with Vin Scully, and several autographed Dodger items.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will dedicate one lane to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles so that youngsters battling cancer can spend a night bowling with their favorite Dodgers.
Last season, Loney was the Dodgers' nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award for his extensive work in the community. In 2008, the first baseman launched his community initiative "Loney's Lounge" and visited children at UCLA's Mattel Children's Hospital and White MemorialÂ Hospital. Loney has continued his community work this season, as well as "Loney's Lounge." As part of the program, he will host children from RBI Los Angeles, a program of which he is an alum, at a total of seven games this season and forty children from RBI Los Angeles enjoyed a video game party with Loney and his teammates in the Baseline Box Club last homestand. In January, Loney made a surprise visit to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
The Dodgers Dream Foundation (DDF) works to provide educational, athletic, and recreational opportunities for children. The Foundation places special emphasis on helping traditionally under-served youth through a great number of community programs. The DDF awards college scholarships to 42 Dodgers Scholars through a partnership with the Jackie Robinson Foundation, builds Dodgers Dreamfields throughout Los Angeles, and assists thousands of youth organizations each year by donating tickets, autographed memorabilia, used equipment, and much more.
