The NAACP National Board of Director, its National Health Committee and the NAACP at large, has chosen Los Angeles's Healthy African American Families II, Director, Ms. Loretta Jones, as the recipient of the 2009 "Montague W. Cobb Award," for her unparalleled dedication to the community in the field of health disparities, and health policies.

Each year deserving individuals are chosen as recipients for the "Montague W. Cobb" Award in recognition of special achievement in social justice, health justice, health education health promotion, and research.

The Award was presented at the NAACP's Health Advocacy Luncheon on Saturday July 12, at the New York Hilton hotel.
