In anticipation of all Los Angeles broadcasters turning off their analog transmitters and broadcasting in digital format effective June 12, KLCS-TV/DT, the education television station licensed to the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), is ready to assist any viewers in making the transition.

"KLCS, along with other broadcasters nationwide, has been running Public Service Announcements (PSAs) on a regular basis to advice the public of the shut off," said Janalyn Glymph, Ph.D., general manager, KLCS-TV/DT. "We stand ready to assist our viewers in making this historic transition a success."

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) still believes that despite all the publicity surrounding the changeover, some viewers still may be not prepared for the change and will therefore be unable to receive an over-the-air digital television signal. Cable and satellite customers will not be affected. In addition, those with the proper television or television equipment who rely on indoor antennas for reception may also be adversely affected.

Those individuals who lose their analog signal, or are unable to receive KLCS-TV after June 12, should refer to, the federal government's website, which has pertinent data regarding digital television. KLCS-TV/DT is a noncommercial educational television station licensed to the LAUSD and it is a member of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), now potentially reaching over 16 million viewers throughout Southern California.
