The membership of 100 Black Men of Los Angeles, Inc. ("BMLA") recently elected Donald Aquinas Lancaster, Jr., MPA, ESQ, as its eleventh president. As president and chairman of the board of the 27-year old organization, Lancaster's role will be to continue to guide BMLA in mentoring youth and providing the leadership for them to become productive and successful future leaders.

One of BMLA's foci is college preparation and Lancaster said, "Young Black Scholars is a college preparatory program and over the years, we've sent over 15,000 kids to colleges and universities and that was orchestrated by the 100 Black Men Organization."  To be able to fund those scholarships, BMLA has reached out to the community, businesses, organizations and has done its own fundraisers.

Since becoming a member, Mr. Lancaster has served as 1st Vice President, and Education Chairman for the organization playing an instrumental role in forming the See Your Future Mentoring Program at Audubon Middle School. "I am humbled by the membership's confidence in me and I am committed to utilizing my knowledge, skills and abilities to serve this organization of outstanding men with distinction."

Professionally, Mr. Lancaster has served public sector entities for over a decade as a trusted advisor of intergovernmental affairs. Experienced in local and state politics, he has an instinctive command of multilayered issues at both the local and state levels. Mr. Lancaster is currently managing partner of The Lancaster Law Group, a boutique law firm with practices areas that include commercial predatory lending litigation, corporate compliance and governance, employment law, and bankruptcy.
