The 2009 United Negro College Fund (UNCF), Los Angeles Walk for Education will take place this Saturday, May 16, in Exposition Park.

This family oriented event attracts more than a 1,000 participants, representing a variety of corporate teams and individual walkers. The event will feature a 5K Walk/Run fundraiser, chaperoned play area for children, and a carnival-like setting in Exposition Park. There will be a Post-Walk Festival with refreshments.

The Los Angeles National Pan-Hellenic Council is calling for supports of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) to participate in the 5K Walk/Run, with proceeds generated from the walk/run to help the HBCUs. The council asks that members of Black Fraternities and Sororities volunteer their time and efforts for this event.
