They say that a man of GOD was asked once before what is it that the Lord loves most about a person? Well the answer is that with which a person is most consistent. At the moment I know of such a person and his name is Reverend Lonnie Dawson of New Mount Calvary Baptist Church in the fine city of Los Angeles, California
I have never seen this man waver in the face of trouble or God. He has always been an outstanding member of this community in which his life, blood, sweat, tears and prayers are found. Although I am not a Christian nor am I an active member in his church, if I had to follow any man on the earth outside of the Lord it would be this young old man. I watch this brother transform souls from hell into to treasures of paradise with his constant reminder of GOD and his mercy.
It is not very often that you find a man who not only wants to do God's work to the fullest but also finds time to show accountability to the people for their time, tidings and faith. I love this brother because if it was up to him and his church the fine city of Compton would not be denied. It is time for us to start giving props to our living ancestors who have carried the torch of Jesus for a long time.
That is the type of church pastor, reverend or imam I want for my family. It is a blessing Mr Dawson, to be able to say thank you for your service to the hood. I can remember once my friend was facing the three strikes law and he was a God fearing man who needed some prayer for his soul along with some words from Jesus.
Well, I went to reverend Dawson and got some prayers from him straight from the bible. He told me to have the guy read and believe in them and he will be free. I guess you know that the brother did what the good reverend told him and to this day he is a free man reading the same prayers he got from the people who really serve God with deep fear and admiration.
They don't bend, bow or shuffle in the face of persecution and fear. Mr Dawson, keep up the good work and if I get there before you I will prepare a place for you. But if you happen to get there before me, remember that I will see you in the morning. You are the big homie from Compton for life.
