Life Tips from a Maasai Village Chief

First, explain the significance of each day. The entire week, beginning with Palm Sunday and Jesus' entry into Jerusalem, commemorates the passion and death of Jesus and culminates with Easter Sunday. Each day from Wednesday forward has a particular focus.

Holy Wednesday is often called 'Spy Wednesday' because it is the day Judas betrayed Jesus, agreeing to turn him in for 30 pieces of silver. Holy Thursday is the day of the Last Supper, when Jesus instituted the Eucharist and the priesthood.

Jesus died on Good Friday, remained in the tomb Holy Saturday and rose on Easter Sunday.

Second, share with others about the scripture passages that correspond to Holy Week events. If you have young children, use a children's Bible that has pictures and simplifies the stories.

Third, organize different events and activities during Holy Week to help your loved ones and others personally experience what you have taught them.

Fourth, bring family and friends with you to the Good Shepherd Church, located at 3303 West Vernon Avenue in Los Angeles, to get more life tips from the Maasai Village Chief on the importance of this holy season of Easter or call him directly at (323) 687-2167.
