Please come out to the Sentinel this Friday Night and watch the first Presidential Debate of the year

Here at the Sentinel we are honored to have been asked by the Obama Campaign to host a viewing party right here on Crenshaw Boulevard to watch the first of three presidential debates between Senators’ Barack Obama and John McCain.  Because this is such a historic event and because I am so honored to be hosting this event I want to personally invite all of you to come here to the Sentinel and watch the debate, share your feelings and let everyone know that Crenshaw and all of Los Angeles is Obama Territory.

I also want to invite any and all of you who can to also sign up and if possible get on the bus after the debate and head out to Nevada (a key swing state) to help support the effort to get this dynamic and desperately needed leader Senator Barack Obama into the White House.

Given the current state of this country, we need change and we need it now.  We need new ideas, and a new way of doing things which will guide America out of the darkness and into the light.

This presidential race is no longer about just getting the most votes, this about getting to 270.  270 electoral votes is what this race is really coming down to, and again I am saying to us all.  We have got to do our part to help win the states that will swing this election into the Democratic category.  It is great that we all celebrate together, and it will be great when Senator Obama wins California (at least we will know, Californians have stopped losing our minds – we did vote in Schwarzenneger).  But in the end we are not looking for moral victories  we are looking for real change!  And that real change can only come when Barack Obama is elected President of The United States of America. So let’s enjoy the debate, and anyone who can, please come ready to head to Nevada and see if we can swing this state into the blue column.

So, whether you agree or disagree, now more than ever I really need your input.  I need to hear from you.  I need to know what is going on in our community.  I also need to know what other stories we need to tell, and what is on your mind.  I really do want to hear from you, I want you to “Talk to Danny.”

Sincerely,

Danny J. Bakewell, Jr.
