Legendary boxing promoter Don King could develop a powerful partnership with Billionaire Catt music mogul Michael McCant that will spice up the sport 

When 46-year old rising entertainment music mogul Michael McCant of Billionaire Catt Entertainment flew more than 3,000 miles from his San Francisco home to meet with legendary boxing promoter Don King at his offices in Deerfield Beach, FL recently, it was a journey of a dream.

McCant, whose life experiences mirror King’s, turned his life around after spending time in prison, but his Billionaire Catt firm has a achieved heighten notoriety recently and McCant has been featured on the covers of  music industry magazines The Urban Network and Black Radio Exclusive (BRE).

However, his success in real estate which allowed for him to parlay into the complex and competitive entertainment industry is what has wet his appetite and convinced him to establish a face-to-face meeting with King with hopes of biting into boxing.

McCant says that he always wanted to sit down with and meet the man whom he idolizes as the most important brand name in boxing.

“This was important for me on two major fronts. One was that he is such an important icon in the sports and business community. And second because I want to partner with him on some new ventures,” said McCant.

Although nothing was solidified in the 90-minute meeting, a foundation for a relationship was formed and perhaps King and McCant will be doing some business together in boxing real soon.

What makes Billionaire Catt (as McCant is called) such a viable and lucrative investment is  many domestic and international soft drink companies, liquor sponsors and video game companies are all vying to use the Billionaire Catt brand.

Sports and entertainment empires attempting to co-brand with McCant who could be conceivably the most powerful mega mogul in United States history.

Among the many subjects that were discussed between the two men was King’s fast growing pioneering effort of Donkingtv.com internet site which launched earlier this year and has become a boon for boxing.

They are hoping to create innovative formulas to combine both McCant’s entertainment music brand with future boxing events that King has scheduled.

The NBA and NFL has been the leading sports leagues that have understood the branding sports and entertainment together, but recently Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions formed an allegiance with entertainment conglomerate AEG.

During the Mike Tyson era, the urban hip-hop community was prominent at many of his fights and it is that sort of energy that McCant hopes to bring to King’s promotional company.

“I like the young man and he has a lot of enthusiasm and wisdom that can be of benefit to the both of us,” stated King.

“The difference between me and any other promoters is that my sponsorship opportunities are not just banner placements and advertisements, but they tell a story,” King added.

The garrulous King grew up in the Cleveland ghetto and served time in prison and came out as one of the brightest individuals this turn of the century.

They both cited their prison experience that allowed for them time to read books for influencing them to turn their lives around.

For more than four decades, he has been the top promoter in the sport and most records that he consistently breaks are those of his own.

McCant is an avid boxing observer who has been following the sport for more than 20 years and believes that he can inject a new infusion into the sport and attract a younger more urban generation of fans.

The multi-dimensional Billionaire Catt for these very reasons is soon to be a walking dynasty and the ultimate household name.

Will the partnership with King happen? Who knows, but a relationship has been born that paves a road for bigger and better things to come.
