Don’t trip on that one point loss by the Lakers to the lowly Kings. The Lakers have played at a high-octane level since they’ve signed Pau Gasol, but the lack of consistent depth is hurting the purple people.

This team will greatly benefit when and if Andrew Bynum returns to the player that he was before the injury and Laker fans would be foolish to underestimate the significance of the return of Trevor Ariza.
I still tell anyone who dares to listen that the Spurs are still the team to beat and the most dangerous team in the west is still the Phoenix Suns.

A motivated Shaquille O’Neal is good enough even at his expanding age to carry a team during critical moments of a game when the championship. It remains to be seen if Gasol can achieve that.
The NBA pretenders are the Magic and Cavs in the East and the Hornets and Jazz in the West. Teams that looks awesome when they are winning, but clueless when they lose.

How can the best player on UCLA’s team not be on the first team all conference team? Russell Westbrook on the third team, Darren Collison on the second team and Josh Shipp not on any team? Are you kidding me?

As good as freshman James Harden is and trust me he’s scary good, I was disappointed by his performance against UCLA and even USC to an extent.

That said, he should bolt for the NBA while he’s hot and not return to the Sun Devils next year.
Kevin Love, the Pac 10 Player of the Year, is a goner and I think Collison may be also. Westbrook is leaning towards returning according to my sources while Josh Shipp may be in a quandary about staying or leaving it really doesn’t matter because he probably will not increase his stock one bit if he remains in college.

Now all of a sudden USC looks as dangerous a team as there is in the country. They should be with OJ Mayo certain to leave after his freshman season and Tim Floyd probably bolting for the LSU job after the season the only thing that will keep Floyd in Trojansville is a big run in the Pac 10 and NCAA tournament.

I’m not rolling with an overrated Washington State team as a high NCAA seed and I’d be shocked if more than four teams from the Pac- 10 get into the tourney.

Pinch me when the dreaded spring training baseball is over. The only thing more less boring than practice baseball games is baseball games in September.

Dodger fans think that Joe Torre can do for the Dodgers what he did for the Yankees are in a long blue dream. This is a team void of proven starting pitching, a traffic jam in the outfield and a team to the south, which has everything they need in Dodger land.

Here’s my answer to that Dodger billboard that asks “When Did You Fall In Love? How about 1988 the last time you won something meaningful.

Dodgers brass don’t kid yourself. If you want this town back, win something...
