Mark J. Saladino, Los Angeles County Treasurer and Tax Collector, reminds property owners that the first installment of the 2007-2008 property taxes becomes delinquent if not paid by Monday, Dec. 10, 2007. To avoid the assessment of late penalties, payments must be received by 5:00pm or United States Postal Service (USPS) postmarked before midnight, Dec. 10, 2007. “To avoid late penalties, taxpayers should not wait until the statutory deadline; please pay early,” says Treasurer and Tax Collector Saladino.
To ensure proper processing of payment, make check payable to the Los Angeles County Tax Collector and include the appropriate first installment payment stub marked “1.” Substitute bills can be obtained from the Treasure and Tax Collector’s Office or any local Assessor’s Office.
