CNS - The City Attorney’s Office is seeking an injunction that would prevent members of the Rolling 40s Crips and two other South Los Angeles gangs from associating with each other in public, court papers show.

A Jan. 29 hearing is scheduled on the city’s motion for a preliminary injunction against the gangs.

The suit filed Nov. 5 in Los Angeles Superior Court also targets the 46 Top Dollar Hustler Crips and the 46 Neighborhood Crips.

The injunction, if granted, would focus on the area bounded by Crenshaw Boulevard to the west, the Harbor (110) Freeway to the east, Martin Luther King Boulevard to the north and 52nd Street to the south.

The gang members also would be banned from Vermont Square Park at 47th Street and Budlong Avenue.

More than 30 homicides took place in Rolling 40s turf in 2005 and 2006, according to the lawsuit.

Along with restricting their movements in public, the order would regulate how the gang members could use their cell phones, what clothes they could wear and the noise levels at parties they attend.
