FOLLOW US:

Our caravan of supporters is currently about 300 miles outside of Shreveport LA, and looking forward to arriving. Bus riders are hearing reports that counter protesters from hate groups like the KKK are planned, and some local businesses are apparently closing their doors. This is consistent with the historical sentiment of the south and I’m not surprised considering the army of supporters destined to land in the small town. I personally doubt the “Jena 6” supporters will be overshadowed by the rallies of any hate groups showing up. There are at least 1000 busses on their way. There are also other supporters flying in and driving themselves.

In Arizona, the Ice was broken and everyone warmed up to the realization they’re a part of something monumental. Dialog has begun.

The general mood on bus is one of excitement and jubilation. Riders are sharing all types of opinions of the Jena situation - everything from their thoughts of how the situation should be dealt with, to how the response should be when we arrive. There are even instances of heated debate. But the most pervasive thing about this bus trip is its act of unity. The sharing of information, food and resources are promoting camaraderie, community and establishing new relationships.

Our current location is about 100 miles outside of Sweetwater Texas.
