Final Call for All Rhythm and Blues Fans!
You may have waited until the last minute to attend the most exciting outdoor-summer concert in the Los Angeles area but there is still time to purchase your tickets for the 3rd annual Compton Summer Soul Jam on August 18 at the Compton Par 3 Golf Course in the City of Compton, California.
This year’s lineup of world class performers will feature some of the nation’s most electrifying and riveting performers as they deliver their original songs and brand of rhythm and blues interpretations on stage at one of the most family-friendly settings in Southern California .
The Los Angeles Sentinel, KJLH Radio-FREE 102.3 FM, and the City of Compton will ‘pull out all stops’ to present what is promised to be one of the most fun-filled and memorable afternoons and early evenings of the summer.
This year’s concert features Yolanda Adams, Angie Stone, Isaac Hayes, Eloise Laws, the Laws Family, Clarence Carter, Barbara Morrison, Linda Hopkins, Billy Valentine, the Sai-Whatt Band, AJ, and Thicke. In addition, a special guest entertainer will share the stage to augment an already impressive lineup of stars.
You are invited to bring your blankets and lounge chairs to set-up your listening and viewing location under the shade trees of the Compton Golf Course or in complete sunshine as you enjoy the food vendors (no outside food or drinks are allowed in the venue), arts and crafts merchants, as well as other exhibitors with a special offering for Southern California jazz aficionados.
Patrons will be greeted by Compton City Councilman Isadore Hall, III who will serve as the event host and will also be welcomed by Compton Mayor Eric Perrodin, Barbara Calhoun, Mayor Pro-Tem, and Council members Lillie Dobson, and Yvonne Arceneaux, who are anxious to present the ‘new face of Compton.”
Let’s face it. Summer is almost over. School starts two weeks after August 18 and unless you have already taken a summer trip to Jamaica , Tahiti, Bermuda, or some other vacation paradise, your last opportunity of the summer to create a memory of a lifetime is to attend the Compton Summer Soul Jam. Your partner or best friend will be forever grateful when you let them know that you have cleared your calendar, at least one day this summer, to share with them the entertainment event of a lifetime.
And, if you just got back from Rio De Janeiro, Cancun or Santo Domingo, to name a few, the Compton Summer Soul Jam is a great place to kick-back, relax, enjoy the soul food and other refreshments, and listen to one of the best live concerts of your lifetime.
Do not allow yourself to be among those who, the day after the concert, are angry at themselves for not seizing the moment. VIP ticket prices are $60.00 and General Admission tickets are $35.00. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com or 213/480-3232 and at the City of Compton, (310) 605-6311.
See you there!
