An overflow audience recently shared in the Installation Service for the Rev. Lawrence K. Dove as the new Undershepherd of Park Hills Community Church located in View Park, California.
A Gala Welcoming Reception followed for Pastor Dove and his wife, the Rev. Yolanda Dove. Among the many greetings received was a letter from the General Secretary of the Reformed Church in America (RCA), the Rev. Dr. Thomas R. De Vries.
Those sharing in the worship service included representatives from the ecumenical community and from the RCA California Classis. The Rev. Kenley Korver, senior minister of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Paramount was the guest speaker. Rev. Dove had served as an associate minister at Emmanuel since 1996. His responsibilities included pastor of the Noon Service and overseeing the Campus Outreach Ministry.
Raised in South Los Angeles, the Rev. Dove earned his degree in computer business applications at CSU-Dominquez Hills. Also, he received a Masters of Arts degree in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary in 1994.
The Rev. Dove was ordained in the Independent Pentecostal denomination in 1979 and began his ministry at Holy Temple Mission Faith Center in South Los Angeles serving as an associate pastor from 1981 through 1995.
The Rev. Yolanda Dove was ordained in 1983 and completed her MPA in 1992. She currently holds a management position with the California State Department of Rehabilitation.
The Doves, parents of two adult children, enjoy sharing the Lord together in ministry. The Rev. Larry’s passion is multicultural worship, racial reconciliation, and mentoring young men. The Rev. Yolanda’s enjoys encouraging young women to find their God given purpose and live it out unashamedly.
