Brookins AME Shares Health & Legal Advice

A Health Fair and Legal Clinic will take place on Saturday, August 11, at Brookins Community A.M.E. Church, 4831 South Gramercy Place in Los Angeles.

The fair starts at 10 a.m., followed by the clinic at 2 p.m. Both events feature expert practitioners in the fields of health, medicine and various areas of law.

“We are offering these free services as part of our ongoing effort to address pressing needs of our community.  We encourage everyone to bring their entire families to participate,” said Pastor. C. Dennis Williams.

The health fair will include cooking demonstrations, Farmers Market, kids zone, and screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes.  Also, a Zumba class takes place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., along with viewing and discussion of HBO’s ‘Weight of a Nation’ from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Brookins Legal Clinic will outline veteran’s benefits during its session at 2 p.m.  In addition, attorneys will be on hand for individual consultations, small business and non-profits, family law, housing, expungements, probates, wills and trusts.
