Harvey is co-chair of the Good News Foundation, an organization through which she and four other Los Angeles, newswomen impact the lives of at-risk youth; distributing annual scholarships to aspiring broadcast journalists. In recognition of her commitment to broadcast, October 30 was deemed (by the Los Angeles Country Board of Supervisors) ‘Pat Harvey Day’, in celebration of her 20th anniversary in 2009.
