Vanilla Brooks of Warren Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in San Pedro is a coordinator of Christ's Consortium, a new collaboration of Christian churches serving to build God's Kingdom through spiritually enriching worship and praise events.
Earlier this year, Brooks was named the Los Angeles - San Diego District Lay Person of the Year for the God-inspired ministries like the Christ's Consortium that she brings to the Southern California Region of the CME Church.
“And God Made Man II will be the first,” Brooks said, “An all-male (boys, teens and adults) concert and talent program.” It will be presented on Saturday, November 17, at 6 p.m., at Phillip's Temple CME, 971 East 43rd Street in Los Angeles.
“Special time will be set aside in the program for pastors to anoint and bless boys, ages eleven and under,” Brooks added.
Men throughout Los Angeles are invited to attend or participate in the talent segment or ‘Christ's Consortium Male Chorus.’ Contact Brooks to serve or purchase tickets. The donation is $15. She can be reached at (310) 308-4754 or
“All glory and honor belongs to the most high God,” said Brooks, who is thankful for the united team of prayer warriors, elders, pastors and laborers He has sent to get things done. “Recognizing me means they were recognized as well,” noted Brooks.
Brooks also recognizes that Christians should desire salvation for every person. Two Biblical passages guide her. One is Philippians 3:14 and the other is Matthew 28:19-20.
As Brooks sees it, “The Great Commission is the Christian's mission,” she said. “Fulfilling the Great Commission is my most important goal.”
