Hey! You are cordially invited to join decline an exclusive club that’s always in style, politically correct and sure to make the most of any situation. No this isn’t the Democratic Party… nope… this is not the Republican Party…nah… this isn’t even the Tea Party…although, tea may be involved…welcome to the Potluck Party!
What is the Potluck Party you say…well the Potluck Party is ANY get together to eat no matter what the occasion. The goal, mission and purpose of this party is to get your mouth wrapped around a fork, spoon or finger—with some food in it or on it.
This exclusive group loves to bring everybody together for a good ole fashioned, hoe down, lip-smacking, ‘can I have some more please,’ finger-lickin,’ gonna get me some second-third-fourth helpin’ grubfest.
The Potluck Party AKA PP Conglomerate never needs a reason to eat but has had many reasons to assemble in the past:
…weddings, funerals, anniversaries, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, holidays, church socials, church member day, celebrating the coming and going of church members, church, graduations, getting out jail, going to jail, an expecting mother, engagement party, divorce party, ‘my boyfriend cheated’ party, pity parties, I got a raise party, I quit my job party, I got my dream job party, ‘my kids are grown and out of the house’ party, ‘I’m fat’ party, ‘I’m skinny’ party, ‘I don’t care’ party, new house party, new car party, a new baby party, dog party, cat party, puppies and kittens party, the sun is shinin’ party, it’s cold party, it’s hot party, Sunday through Saturday party, barbecue, soul food, Chinese food, Greek food, Italian food, American cuisine, Indian food, burgers, fries, chips, coleslaw, ham hocks, egg rolls, vegetarian, vegan, ‘I love meat’ eatin,’ pudding, apple pie, sweet potato, fondue, kosher, medium –well, baked, fried with a dippin’ sauce… party.
There’s always a reason for the PP Conglomerate to party—to eat. That’s why you have been asked to sign up and join decline this party which already has billions worldwide and counting…
How much longer are you going to be on the outs? Come and see for yourself what the Potluck Party is all about.
This has been a satire on overeating and encourages everyone to practice moderation when it comes to the holidays and food in general. Just say no to the Potluck Party.
I’m occasionally a card-carrying member.
